GATE 2014 examination will be held during
forenoon (09:00 AM to 12:00 noon) and afternoon (2:00 PM to 5:00 PM) sessions
on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) between 1st February 2014 and 2nd March 2014.
Examination for most of the papers will be
held in a single session, either in the forenoon or afternoon during a weekend
(Saturday or Sunday).
However, Examination for the remaining papers
will be held in multiple, but continuous forenoon and afternoon sessions. For
example, assume that for a paper with code XY, examination will be conducted in
4 sessions. Then the examination for this paper will be scheduled in 4
continuous sessions during the weekend of the same week as shown in the
following table:

Depending upon the number of candidates
registered for a particular paper and other logistics, the number of sessions
will be decided.
Candidates appearing for a multi-session
paper have NO CHOICE as far as the SESSION is concerned. The session allotment
will be done on a random basis by GATE 2014. No request for change of session
shall be entertained at any point of time.
